Our Story

In 2017, Sixtine and Daniel met through a mutual friend and at university parties in London. This friend had met Daniel during an exchange year in Vancouver and came back raving: “I met this guy Daniel — he’s amazing and single! You have to meet him!

They did eventually meet, mostly at loud uni parties, but barely spoke. Until one night, at yet another party, they ended up chatting for hours and somehow became the last two standing, talking until dawn like it was the most natural thing in the world.

The very next day, Sixtine left for summer break (great timing). A month later, she returned to London, and a few weeks after that, in the glow of autumn, they shared their first kiss and officially became a couple - again, at a party.

A couple of weeks later, Daniel and Sixtine went to IKEA for the first time together. And as everyone knows, nothing says commitment like navigating flat-pack furniture and meatballs together. It was right after, that Daniel said “I love you” for the first time.

After just a month of dating, they nervously introduced each other to their parents — who were, thankfully, warm, lovely, and only slightly terrifying.

Two years later, they moved in together and survived COVID in a 30-square-metre apartment (a true relationship stress test). After a few flats, a few trips, and a lot of laughs, Daniel started planning a proposal — secretly, of course, only confiding in his brother.

He picked the south of France, August 2024. Lavender fields, a dreamy village called Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, a romantic hotel — everything was set. Except... when they arrived, the lavender had been harvested the week before. It was now just... a field. Panic.

Knowing he’d already told the hotel they’d be “newly engaged” by check-in, Daniel frantically tried to find another picturesque spot while Sixtine kept insisting, “Can we just go to the hotel already?

They arrived. Daniel was a bundle of nerves. When a staff member came to welcome them, Daniel — normally the most polite man alive — turned weirdly abrupt, which made Sixtine wonder: “Why is he being so rude?!

The moment the poor hotel guy left, Daniel couldn’t hold it in any longer. He blurted out: “Will you marry me, Sixtine?

Tired, mildly hungover (it had been a fun night before), and very much in shock — Sixtine said YES!

After spending nearly 10 years in London, they decided to start a new chapter and moved to Stockholm in September 2024 — ready for their next adventure together.
